i had a very wonderful conversation today with someone new to westwinds.
he and his wife decided to pop in for our open house a few weeks back... and they've been attending ever since. for people who only find themselves inside a church for weddings and funerals... they've been amazed how the messages have seemed to "shine a spotlight" on them. (we've been going through habakkuk... who'd have thunk it!)
anyway... he came in to tell me about something amazingly confusing to him... and to seek my insight.
it turns out that he was one of those people who dropped a glass marble into the bowl of water in fusion. (see my earlier post) that day we finished up habakkuk... the final verse being...
The LORD God is my strength;
He will make my feet like deer’s feet,
And He will make me walk on my high hills.
Habakkuk 3:19 (nkjv)
he's been struggling with issues with his wife... and he told me that as he dropped the marble, he said to G*D... "whatever happens, i want to walk on the high hill with you."
i love the simple beauty of new people as they embrace Jesus.
anyway... later that day he was home sitting on the couch... talking with his wife about their situation. and he found himself trying to manipulate her to do what he wanted. he knew he was being controlling, but he didn't know what else to do in the situation.
but get this... just then his 4 yr. old walks into the room and says... "dad, the high hill".
completely dumbfound, he asked his son, "what?" and his 4 yr. old said... "climb the hill."
so... today in my office... we spent a long time talking about all that G*D was showing him through this experience... inviting him into a new life... a new way of seeing.
G*D is so cool.
